Sakura Cafe Review

I wanted to go to this other dessert place but it was far from where we had dinner so decided to come here. It's a very tiny café. When we got there, no-one was there... I guess more people would go there around lunch time to buy sandwich? They aren't really a dessert specialist café, all they really had was parfaits. Before coming my friend was looking at the menu and she said it's like an auntie/mother café and it is owned by an auntie. I thought the auntie and the girl were nice. However...

I ordered the Sakura house special parfait ($8.59) and my friend ordered the matcha parfait ($8.39). My friend wanted mochi instead of the green tea swiss roll but the auntie there said they ran out. So my friend just stick with the swiss roll.

I'm not sure why but mine was more expensive but it looks much smaller than my friends... My friend said her's didn't have any peach slices that was listed on the menu. I thought the matcha one was pretty nice looking. My friends liked that sesame ice cream and green tea swiss roll bites.

I think mine would be nice in a tall glass too but it came in a bowl... The auntie said no red bean ice cream so she put mango ice cream instead (she didn't tell me before hand...) and for some reason I have mochi balls when they said they don't have it... I think I did overhear the auntie talking to the girl in Mandarin about go and get some mochi for her. I thought all the flavours were not bad. I like the black sesame ice cream but not sure why the texture was so different compared to the green tea and mango. It was like flaky ice, more on the icy side. I thought the ice cream were probably from the store bought bucket of ice cream, not hand made. The red bean paste tasted like the ones you get from supermarkets. There were only 3 slices of tiny orange and 3 mochi.

No, I will not come back again. For that price I think I can get better ice cream elsewhere. One question, so what do you have? Oh, I like how they put lemon in their water so it had a lemon taste.
