Does It Determine Who We Are?

You know I always hear people praising how good people's kids are and how smart they are. Is it really that important? Does that determine who we really are?

People always want their kids to go to a good well known school but does it really matter?

People don't even check our grades or care about what school we went to (sometimes) when we look for a job. It's all about can we do the job that we applied for. Plus, what we learned in school is very different from the actual thing at work. Not a lot of the stuff that we learned from school are applied to the stuff at work. The most useful thing is probably all the Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.), almost all companies use it.

My Daddy always say, if they are good in school, they can do good in any school, doesn't matter which one. I agree, people always seem to judge someone by what school they went to or what job they are doing. Going to a well known school doesn't mean anything, they might have more "face" infront of other people, that's all. Going to a good school doesn't mean they are actually good in school. Maybe they are just borderline passing, you never know.

Not going to university doesn't mean anything either. Tons of rich/successful people in this world didn't go to university and they are better off than most of the university people. So what does that tell us?

"Don't judge a book by it's cover", don't judge someone based on their education.

I didn't go to one of the two well known universities and I feel like people look down at me because of that. Like they didn't say anything but then I can feel it by the stuff they say. Yes, I didn't go to a named university but I learned a lot from there (forgot most) and I have a great job right now. HA!

Typed it sometime in June.
