You don't have to wait in line to get the ice cream, just go up to the cashier. I waited in line and when it was my turn they said just go to the cashier. Uh...they should put a sign up, "no need to wait in line for ice cream" or something.
I wanted to order the mango (or was it some other fruit?) + pineapple swirl but that guy said their swirl part of the machine isn't working... Ok, fine, I mainly wanted to try the pineapple anyways. The lady that was beside me said oh, you could have asked them to do half and half. At first, I'm like yea, but their machine doesn't work but she meant half a cup mango and half pineapple, it's still a swirl in a way. Does that make sense?
It was ok size but I wish it was bigger ($4.15 after tax). The guy said I can get spoons at the entrance. Uh...there weren't any spoons left and I was too lazy to go back to the cashier so I took a fork instead. Yup, a fork. First time eating ice cream with a fork but it works, only in the beginning though. When it melts, I just had to drink from the cup...
When I first got it I could smell the pineapple, oh so good! I've never tried pineapple ice cream before. People said they only have it in Hawaii. Sigh, lets not talk about Hawaii, a place that I want to go but don't get to go yet. Anyways, back to the ice cream. =) It had a strong pineapple taste but not strong enough that I wanted to die. I'm guessing it's more of a sorbet? It didn't have a creaminess to it, but it wasn't icy hard like a popsicle, just right.
There is another place in Steveston that has pineapple ice cream that I want to try, I will someday... I will for sure try one in Hawaii (if I ever go...and if I can find the place).
I would totally come back again, it was good. Maybe I'll try the swirl next time, hopefully the machine doesn't break down again (please fix it for me). And hopefully they have a spoon next time so I can enjoy every spoonful. I was rushing to finish that ice cream with the fork before it melts...
