Service was not bad, they were nice. However, they don't go around checking if people need more tea. My friend had to ask for tea 2 times.
Anyways I ordered the wan luan pork hock vermicelli soup ($9.50). My friend got the wan luan pork hock rice ($10.50) and the deep fried chicken nuggets ($7.50, aka salty peppery chicken). It took quite long for the food, I think we waited a good 15-20 minutes? I'm not sure why it took so long to make but ok. I was super hungry and that wait made my hunger go away...
My pork hock vermicelli soup, it was normal Taiwanese combo set size. The rice vermicelli was thinner than what I had in mind. It was overly soft and breaks easily, it felt over cooked. The pork hock, it's was a bit on the hard to chew side. The marinate flavour wasn't as strong as I wanted it (I can never find a good marinate restaurant...like HK and Taiwan). The dish came with a garlic type of sauce which goes nice with the pork hock.
I asked my friend how is her dish, she said it's just rice and these interesting description on the pork hock which can't be used in a review haha.
The chicken nuggets, I thought it was pretty big. It had a nice flavour, not overly salty and it was crispy. I feel like my friend ordered it just so I can pack it home... (thanks) My mom said it was a bit sweet. I guess because other places put more salt on it. I thought it was good but I prefer saltier. =)
Will I come back again? Hm...I don't think I will. It was just so-so. I thought their pork hock would be soft and very marinated but nope.
