Pho Khang Review

Someone decided to take me here for our rare weekday dinner. We were the only ones there for awhile. A few people came in after. Most of them were skip the dishes people. The service was ok, nothing special. The woman that works there was so loud, almost sounds like yelling. The blender that they use was also really loud.

We ordered the house special pho ($9.75) and the house special vermicelli ($9.75), thanks.

They came ok fast and size was not bad. Normally pho comes with raw bean sprouts. What I like about this place is they cooked the bean sprouts a bit so it’s not raw but not fully cooked. I think all places should do that. There were 2 types of beef in it, beef balls, tripes and tendon. Not a lot of each but enough. I thought the flavour was pretty good without adding anything in it. The noodle had enough flavour which was good. I thought the noodle was cooked a bit too long, breaks easily.

The vermicelli bowl, tried the spring roll and it was crispy, the filling was ok but had enough flavour to it. The chicken was not bad too, tasted almost like a lemongrass chicken. It was yellow coloured so not sure if normal flavoured chicken or what kind of chicken. One thing I didn’t like was the raw bean sprouts in it.

Overall, it’s considered one of the cheaper pho these days. The size was not bad for the price and service was fast if you are in a rush. We would come back again and it’s close to home.
