Poke 88 Review

Boyfriend wanted to eat at the food court so we were looking around and saw this place. They have this anniversary sale, 25% off and it looked ok price so decided to try. The stale looked so simple and I guess the gals there were ok but she didn’t say thank you. There were forms that we can fill to build our own. I kind of like that more than the normal poke places where you pick on the spot. When you pick on the spot, you feel very somewhat pressured. You don’t want to take too long to hold up the line or something so the paper way was good.

We build our own ($11.95+25% or something), thanks. A base, 2 proteins, 8 toppings, 2 garnish and 2 sauces. All pokes comes with miso soup.

They made the poke look quite nice, very colourful. They gave only a tiny spoonful of each topping but somehow looked a lot already. The taste was not bad but I wish they had a little bit more sauce. It was enough but more sauce is always better. It had a little kick to it which we liked. The size was ok and we just shared one as lunch. The brown rice was had a texture to it so more chewing.

The miso soup, the miso flavour was strong but light in taste. It was good, not bad.

Overall, we both liked it. I would go back again. Probably the cheaper poke I’ve ever ordered so far. Most poke places are quite pricey. They had ok choices of toppings to pick from, pretty much the same as other poke place.
