My friend suggested this place so decided to go. I haven't been to an Indian buffet for N years.
The place was ok size and there were quite a few people there eating when we got there and got more crowded. Service was ok.
It was $21.95 per person. I believe there were no time limit but not too sure.
I tried to try as much curry as I can. Some of them I really like and some I don't really like. I can't remember which curry is which but I remember a few. I thought the butter chicken one wasn't that good, maybe it's the way how they made it? My friend liked the green one but I didn't. The rest were not bad. I like the veggie curry one, there were potatoes and zucchini or something in there.
I love vegetable pakora because the batter reminds me of samosa and just very well flavoured with herbs and spices. However, their pakora were a bit too battered, I don't taste any vegetables at all.
I also really like their roti, I like that herb/spice taste, so good. It's almost like eating chips.
I tried their dessert. The fried ring like ones were actually not bad. I tried somewhere else and I didn't like it. The donut like one was ok too but I didn't really like that strong butter flavour that it had. The other rice pudding and other stuff I didn't like as much because it had herbs/spices in it. Just seems a bit strange to me in desserts.
Overall, not bad but I don't think it's worth the price. It's a pretty expensive meal. But it's always good to try new things. No, won't come back.

Flipside Review
I wanted to try this place long ago but last time they were under renovation so we couldn't go. Now they are done reno we can finally go. It was ok big in there and it was so hot. It was empty when we were there, kind of weird.
I didn't really like how they have this dark window thing so the people inside can see you but you can't really see them. It feels like someone is starring at you while you eat... Other than that the service was not bad. When you are done, they can see from the inside so they will come out and get the plates and stuff... And it's CASH ONLY.
Anyways, I got the halo halo monster ($12.98) and my friend got the mango pan de cream ($3.98).
My halo halo was pretty good. Way better than what I had last time at this Filipino restaurant. This one actually had sweet flavour. Now, that's more like a dessert. The red and green jello were sweet. The beans and other stuff tasted so much better. One thing, they had so much cream on top which I didn't like too much. The purple shake had that fake ish ube or taro taste which isn't my favourite thing but it's ok.
The ice cream, I'm not sure what flavour and I remember it said on the menu, it was quite sweet compared to the drink. I was gonna add it into the drink but nah.
The caramel flan was yummy. I always like those. Sweet eggy flavour and it was ok firm.
I tried my friend's mango ice cream and it had that fake mango taste. It remind of the Nestle brand ice cream in Hong Kong.
Overall, I think it was pretty good but a bit pricey. I won't come back again because it's quite far for me and I've tried what I need to try.

Mazazu Crepe Review
I saw their parfait on IG so wanted to try. They don't have much to choose.
I got the oreo one ($7.25) and she said they ran out of "ice balls" and if more oreo is ok. Sure...? How can you run out when it's just during afternoon. You still have until night time...
It was ok, very crunchy with the corn flakes, cereals and oreo. The ice cream was ok. It was quite filling, quite full after eating. The brownie was ok.
No, I don't think I'll go again. I may try their crepe but might not. I'll try crepes in Japan someday.

Element Diner Review
I saw cool pictures online so decided to give it a try. It's ok size in there but some tables are hidden on the side but the waiter always comes and check on us.
The service was interesting. The guy was a bit clumsy to me. He had a nice smile on and very nice, not bad looking lol! However, he got my order wrong and when it's my turn to pay he was gonna give my friends bill to me and he threw my receipt away. Yea, he gave me a very interesting feeling.
Anyways, we ordered the thai style soy braised boneless pork knuckle ($12.99) and the pork belly cheesy udon ($11.99).
My friend's udon came first and I thought it looked not bad. We both thought the soup would be cheesy but there were only cheese on top of the pork belly. I tried a spoonful. The soup was not bad, enough flavour but not the ordinary ramen type of broth, it was pork broth. The udon was good texture. My friend thought it was ok.
They got my order wrong and I was offered teriyaki don or something and the chef or some lady asked if it's ok if I take it. I said no I want what I order but I should have taken the teriyaki because my dish was very very very disappointing. (Yes, I said VERY 3 times)
So my dish finally came when my friend was half way done. Um...ok (the look of the dish). To me, it didn't look very appetizing at all. Looks like normal than normal type of dish. I thought it said Thai style, doesn't seem Thai to me at all. It's more like Taiwanese style... The pork hock was nice and soft but it had no taste what so ever. There was a good amount of rice so it was filling. I like the salty and sour veggie on the side. Other than that I didn't like that dish at all.
Will I come back? Sorry, no!

Bee Blu XXXVII
"When the moon shines the stars will dim. When the clouds cover the moon that's when stars can shine, everything is the same. There will be times when people think they have lost everything but it's actually a big gain. What can be let go of and what can't be let go of. A clear heart will follow after a lost moment. After the pain, it will only bring you a more steady (not sure word) life."
"Life is a miracle, fate will bring two different people together. What do these people leave behind? Happiness or sadness? Enemies or friends? Or simply said by a philosopher that every encounter is a long time no see?" - Don't know, maybe it can be a long time no see from past life?
"Death isnt scary, someone else's death is scary. When you think everything is going well, how would you know accident is just around the corner? I just hope after the bitter, there will be sweet to end it" - I wish too but life has always been bitter for me ever since I'm a big girl.
"Accidents come, no time to say good bye. When fate leaves, the past will only become painful memories. Life is hard, people accept, fight through it because we still have hope in life. There are bad and there will be good. The problem is you have to go through 99 times of bad things to have one good thing happen." Really like this because it's true, 99 bad for 1 good. More bad than good in my life. More like 10000000000000000000000000000000000x bad for 1 good. Life sucks!
"Rest, is to go further. If there is a time where you are tired and can't go on, try to stop and rest, stretch and maybe guess a riddle." I was unhappy about work and felt like the drama was talking to me again. Thanks!
Bee blu, new drama. This song is quite catchy. His other song is good too, post it maybe next week.
胡鴻鈞 Hubert - 為愛冒險

Chongqing Noodle House Review
I passed by this place a few times but never tried. Decided to try before kickboxing.
It was pretty empty when we were there but there were still a few people the service is ok.
We ordered the pork hock noodle ($9 something).
It was ok size. I thought it had quite a bit of noodle. The noodle were soft, I kind of like it a tiny bit harder but it's all good. The soup tasted interesting to me. It's like lime taste or dish detergent smell. It may be the cilantro which I don't like. My friend said it's the type of pepper that they use.
I really like their pork hock, it's nice and soft. It's well flavoured, it didn't have that interesting soup taste so I'm happy.
No, I don't think I'll come again. The taste isn't really my thing. That's just me though. Their pork hock is really good though. Do they just sell that only? If so I'll go back again. =)

Little Ongpin Review
Decided to come before boxing. I've always wanted to try this place, not really their food but the dessert. Well, I wanted to try their pork hock but I didn't see it on the menu.
The place isn't that big and it was super hot in there. There were few tables with people. There was this one big family eating there. Service was not bad but I thought the wait for our dessert took quite long.
We both ordered the halo halo ($7 something). I thought it was interesting, lots of different flavours. It's not very sweet to me but ok filling. It's like a harder version of shaved ice. The ice cream taste very familiar but I can't describe it. It kind of reminds me of those fake taro taste in bubble tea, not really my favourite. There were jello around it which I thought had no taste. It said there is custard flan, I was expecting a whole piece for that price and not a tiny slice. The custard tasted not bad.
I knew there were beans below, that I liked, soft and sweet. There was this kiwi looking thing that I didn't like. It's harder than a kiwi and it has this sour taste to it. Just not my thing. Other then that, it was ok.
No, don't think I'll come back again. I don't know much about Filipino food, someone I know may but yea. I thought that dessert was quite expensive.

Dai Jang Kum Review
Decided to eat here before kick boxing. It was quite empty when we got there. There were about 2 tables of people there. It's ok big inside and I see different named rooms.
Service, I didn't really like the first guy that was there. He was just too cool and no smile or anything. This other guy that came later was nice, he even looked and said thank you when we were about to leave.
Anyways, we ordered the seafood jambong ($10.95, spicy seafood noodle), dumplings (not sure price) and jajang noodle ($8.95, black bean sauce).
To me, I thought my seafood noodle was not bad, I really like it. The size was quite big, lots of seafood compared to those seafood tofu stew I have had elsewhere. The soup had enough seafood taste. The noodle was nice and soft and it soaked up enough of the soup flavour. I just didn't like how the mussel wasn't open at all and I had to dig them open.

Oh, we both hated that thing under the table. I know there is nothing much they can do because it's part of the BBQ thing but we keep hitting our legs on it. Not much leg space down there.

Passion 8 Review
I've always wanted to try this place but never did.
It's ok size inside but quite hot because the sun was shining into the shop even with the blinds down.
They will tell you to find a seat and then when you are ready to order, you can go up to order. They will bring the bingsu to your table.
We got the Mr.Choco Bear ($9.50) and honey berry and cheesecake ($10.50).
They both look very pretty. Taste wise, I thought it wasn't as good as some other places that I have been to before. I thought part of it was lacking some taste. I was hoping they would have more chocolate taste to it. There was only the chocolate powder on top and the chocolate ice cream. The shaved ice wasn't as powdery and it had a milk taste to it. The bottom felt like ice to me but it had a better chocolate flavour at the bottom, maybe they had syrup or something down there?
I tried the honey berry, it was ok. I liked that corn chip thingy on the side.

West Coast Poke Review
I wanted to try the one in Richmond but I was going to Vancouver so why not try that location instead. It's not too big in there but it was ok. Service was ok.
You can make your own bowl or get the one of the four that they thought out for you already. I made my own because I wanted to.
I don't quite remember what I got but I'll try my best. I got regular brown rice bowl ($12.50) with chopped scallop, spicy shoyu, pickled red onion, thai chili, pickled ginger, radish, kimchi cucumber, spicy crab salad, spicy seaweed salad, miso ginger soy and citrus ponzu, and furikake.
The taste was not bad, it got a bit spicy after a few forkful (ate with a fork, they should have spoons...). I think it was spicy from the pickled ginger. The chopped scallop was definitely very chopped up... I didn't really get to try each thing separately but it was good all mixed together.
I liked the other poke place better, maybe because that guy packed mine like a mountain and this one didn't? That other poke, I could taste different flavours which was nice, maybe I didn't mix it?
Hm...not sure if I'll come back. Maybe?
I find poke really expensive... I can buy a top that's on sale with that price. Sigh.

Teppan Kitchen Review
I was going to eat something else at the food court but the item that I wanted were sold out so I went here instead. I saw poutine on their menu and I have been craving it like crazy! Such a nice meal before kick boxing haha.
It was $9.50 and it was ok big for the price. The fries were crispy, not a lot of cheese which I like. I wish they had more gravy and most were dried up from the pan. It was a good flavour but I thought it was a tiny bit salty. It also came with a tiny miso soup which wasn't as salty as I thought it would be. Maybe the poutine was too salty so compared to it, it's nothing?
I was pretty full after it.
Yes, I would come back again when I have a poutine craving. I wouldn't have to go to a restaurant just for it.

Ma Dang Goul Review
Decided to come here for dinner. It's a tiny place and kind of dark. Service was fine.
Their tea had a stronger barley taste to it.
We ordered the vegetable pancake, kimchi soup and beef rice.
The pancake was ok, I didn't like the raw onion, it was too spicy. Other then that it's fine. Not much taste alone so have to dip the sauce.
The kimchi soup was good. It was ok spicy but it's nice with some rice in it. I like how it had my favourite potatoe noodle and pork belly in it.
The beef rice was not bad, I tried a spoonful of it. There were those crispy rice texture.
Yes, I would come back again. Not bad.
Thanks someone for the pancake.

Tandoori King Cafe Review
I got a flyer from work so decided to go try it out and it had a 10% off coupon on it. Close to IKEA.
The whole time we were there it was empty. I think there were people that got take out but it was pretty quiet. When we first entered, it had a strong curry smell and I'm not sure why after a bit we start smelling some fragrance freshener smell. I rather have the curry smell because that fragrance smell reminds me of the washroom...
Service was ok but he seem kind of dead to me. He didn't say "thank you" when I paid...
We ordered the chicken curry ($13.95) and lamb vindaloo ($13.95).
Both were the same size, it doesn't look big but it was ok filling. It came with rice so you will get full unless if you eat a lot then that is a different story. It was basmati rice, long and thin. It didn't stick together like Asian rice. The chicken curry was not bad, it was mild spicy and just right. The chicken, I believe they were chicken breast, not hard to chew, pretty soft. I don't know why but when I add the curry to the rice, it taste kind of bland. I didn't want to waste the rice. I guess it's better to eat the curry with naan? At the end, I packed part of the curry home, I was getting full and didn't want to be too full before kickboxing.
The lamb, I just tasted the curry. Kind of similar to the chicken but it was spicier, got the medium spicy.

Ma Li Jang Sung Review
My brother's friend said this place is good so decided to come. It's more of a Chinese Korean restaurant he said.
We got the combo A ($31.99) and the seafood and veggie rice ($11.99).
The black bean sauce noodle, I thought the taste was a bit light compared to what I had before. The noodle was ok texture.
The sweet and sour pork was different from what I thought. It's not like the chinese type. The sour taste wasn't too sour. More on sweet side. The pork was crispy. But you need to dip the sauce or no flavour.
The seafood rice. I didn't try much. I thought they would mix it up but no. The taste was on a lighter side to me. It just look like those Asian rice dishes at those restaurants.
My favourite was the seafood noodle. The soup was ok spicy. The noodle was a nice texture. It had mussels, octopus and some veggie.
Overall, not very impressed with the food but it's ok price for 5 people. No, don't think I will come again.

Bee Blu XXXVI
Finally finished "Faraway Bride", I think I cried in almost every episode. There were always some touching moments. I think every women in these stories are very brave. They all sacrifice everything that they had in Hong Kong and decided to move to another place just for love. If you ask me...I'm not sure if I would do that just for love. First of all, I don't think I can leave my family. They are my everything.
I like how it somewhat encourage us to keep believing that there are still true love out there. There are guys that are super kind, loyal, honest and will never give up. I wish a guy like that would appear too but I don't really know if they still exist. Just like how I think I'm rare but those guys never found out... I guess Tian has already planned out everything.
There were 2 stories that I really like. 2 of the ladies had sickness or some problems and the guys didn't disappear but they stayed by them and never gave up. They accepted who they were. Do you still believe these guys exist? Very rare...
I also watched "Life on the line", not an interesting drama but I really like the phases that they say at the beginning or the end of the drama. It's those meaningful lines. Not great at translating...
"People say time will heal every wound, it's wrong, some wound will never heal after a long time because that wound isn't only on you but on the people that care about you. Whenever that wound hurts, those people will hurt too ... After the pain, it doesn't only grow new skin but braveness"
"Everyday we meet a lot of people and each encounter has different meanings. Some will become lovers, some will become great friends. They are here to challenge you, help you and most of the time, to bring out the best of you. Each encounter will change your life. Between meeting and leaving we all learn a lesson, to love and to be loved." - I quite like this one.
"Fate let us meet again. It's not that we don't want to forget but some things can't be forgotten. There won't be a forgiving ending for every sorry." - So true!
More lines next time, too many.
This 2-year-old and her giant poodle embody the term 'friendship goals,' and the internet is in love
That is very cute!

Dutch Wooden Shoe Cafe Review
Someone suggested this place. It was ok in there. Some tables were empty. Some parts of the place were quite dark. Service was not bad, the girl came 2 times to ask if we are doing ok.
We ordered the mixed fruits waffle ($12.99).
It was ok big. It was a soft waffle, I thought it would be those hard or crispy type. I like it soft because it's easy to eat and won't scratch the inside of my mouth. The fruits were sweet and warm from the waffle. I thought there were no taste on its own so had to add syrup.
Overall, not bad, not too sweet. We stayed few minutes pass their closing time. Whoops, she probably hates us. She could have came to us and said "sorry, we are closing". I guess I would come back.

Yuu Tapas Review
My friends and I came here years ago and we are back. They moved a few stores down and a bigger location.
It was ok busy when we were there. My friend said they have so much new ideas on their menu compared to before. I thought so too but if they don't come up with new items, who will come. Service, I guess it was ok. I don't know why one of the guy came to our table and ask if we reserved but we were already seated for so long... Then the lady brought my item to another table. Very interesting.
Anyways, I got the beer ramen with fried chicken ($14.95 +$1). Not too sure what my friends got.
The beer ramen set was ok big. The egg white had a strong bonito taste to it so it was kind of salty. The ramen was not bad. It may seem plain but the bonito taste was ok strong so it had enough flavour. The ramen was very chewy which I like and it was the thin type of ramen.
The fried chicken was really crispy to me. My friend said it taste like salty peppery chicken.
I tried my friend's tomatoe ramen and I thought it was not bad. It had a light taste to it with a strong tomatoe flavour.
I also tried my friend's fried pork. It was crispy but lack some taste. It came with a sauce but I didn't dip any.
Overall, not bad. The size was ok big too. Yes, I will come back again. I want to try their octopus ramen and if they have any new items.

Genie D'eclair Review
I've always wanted to try this place because the eclairs look so pretty.
The place isn't that big. When I look in from inside, it looks like there are no customers but there are seats behind so you can't see them. I like how honest they were. My friend ask what they recommend. she asked "is it your first time here?". We said "yes" and she said the pistachio and something else. Then she said "even if it's you last time, you should try those". So funny.
My friend got the pistache framboises $6.75 and I think I got the petit pistache financier $6.95.
The pistache framboises looked more like the traditional eclairs. It had a tangy taste to it because of the filling but I thought it tasted better than the other one. I couldn't really taste much pistachio taste. It had a stronger raspberry taste to it. I prefer more of a pistachio taste.
The petit one looked more like a cake to me. The cake was ok firm and had a tiny butter taste to it. It had more of a pistachio taste to me but I would like even more.
I kind of like the regular éclair one better.
I think I would come back again if they come up with interesting flavours. It is a bit pricey for such a tiny thing but it was expected.

Danbo Review
When my friend and I passed by this place there would be a line up outside so we decided to come and try this place out. We were there early so there weren't any line up.
It's not a very big place and I felt like our table was super close to the table beside us. I felt like I was in HK. I didn't feel too comfortable talking to my friend but we still did. The service was ok, nothing special.
I got the miso ramen ($10.95) with thin firm noodle, standard thickness, standard richness and a little spicy.
The ramen texture was ok and chewy. The soup wasn't too salty and had a tiny kick to it, I wonder what rich would taste like and I think it can be a bit more spicy. The chasiu was just right. Not too salty or no flavour. My other friend asked if I thought it was too lean. I thought it was ok but I don't mind if it was fatter. I love fat meat!
I think it was just alright, nothing too special to me. Makes me wonder why there is always a line up... I've tried better ramen than that. I thought it's a bit pricey for a ramen like that, at least put an egg in.

Bee Blu XXXV
So random, boss saw a Porsche at our parking lot, he said he thinks I should get one. He thinks I'll look cool in one. I was thinking how did he know I was thinking about that before, not anymore.
So funny, we had a meeting at work and boss wants us to be more pro. He gave an example and said the guy that changes carpet was hitting on me. He said something like "hey, I have to watch out for my girl", aww. Once a baby at work, always a baby at work. =) He was saying how the carpet guy always greet everyone here when he sees them. Normally they will ignore and not say anything. I have to agree he is quite nice but I know he is married and has kids. And I never liked him that way but definitely a good guy. Fedex guy is not bad too but don't see him often. =(
Went to a Whitecaps game for the first time, thank you. It was nice. I get to hear the actual sound of soccer players kicking the ball. I like how when Canada scores, everyone stood up (I didn't haha) and cheer. I love those long and high kicks. I used to play soccer with guys in elementary so I do like soccer but don't really watch and play now. It was a nice experience although we lost quite bad, a bit disappointing. I would go again but I don't think I would actually buy a ticket to go but I'll see. I think I would save that money for a meal or something nice haha.

Hm...interesting. So many of these stories. I'm actually not sure who should pay for these bachelorette parties. I've always thought it's either the parents that pay for it or the friends prepare them. I don't know if friends actually pay for that. I don't think friends should pay unless if they have a surprise for the bride to be.

So sad. Cancer is such a cruel thing. If I was a mother , I would have chosen baby over me as well.

Hm...I don't know about this... I still can't stand that smell and taking kids there...I don't know.
My Marriage Fell Apart Within Four Months & Here's Why I'm Glad
I've read a few marriage failure stories and they all found their true love quite quickly after. I guess it's kinda true, when one door closes, another will open. Well, I think they are just lucky, not everyone is that lucky.

That is pretty scary... They can actually get your info with that thing. Do ever use a high tech store directory thing guys.

Jack Frost Review
Saw this online so decided to come. It's a tiny place and it was pretty packed when we got there. Good thing we got the last spots.
We wanted the juicy watermelon but they said it's not ripe enough and they had to give us a refund.
So we decided to get the honey melon delight ($16.95) and honey butter toast (not sure about price and my friend said that was the name).
The honey melon was displayed nicely. I thought the melon were really sweet, we wonder if it was soaked in syrup. There were quite a few honeydew. The ice cream was vanilla flavoured and the cream was sweet lol. The shaved ice had a vanilla taste to it and the texture was not bad but I still think the other place had the best powdery shaved ice. It's better if you share with someone unless if you are a big eater. It was ok filling.
The toast was not bad, not too sweet. I like how it has a rice cake texture, pretty interesting. I'm not sure what the middle layer was but it looked like puff pastry. There were some red beans on it. I thought this toast would be called the injeolmi red bean toast or something.
Yes, I would come back again, it's not bad. However, it is on a pricey side, more like a one time won't come back place.

Moxie's Review
Bestie choose this place to treat us. Thanks! It's ok big and I have no clue why they seated us outside and the sun was killing us... There were tons of space inside...
Service was ok, the girl was interesting.
Anyways, we ordered rustic Italian ($16.75), Caesar salad ($10.75) and the burger ($15.50).
The rustic Italian, the waitress asked the chef to make it non spicy because other bestie can't handle the heat. They left the red pepper on the side. I thought it was not bad. I ate it with the cheese, didn't really taste much of it. Some reason the meat on there tasted a bit like Chinese BBQ pork, maybe the grill taste or whatever. The red pepper does add a bit of a kick to it which I really like.
The salad, I don't eat salad so I had one piece of leaf only, it's ok.
The burger was a normal burger, nothing interesting, maybe that's why I don't really remember about the flavours. I guess the patty was nice and juicy and not hard to eat. I really like the fries, can't go wrong with fries.
Yes, I would go back again, I want to try their happy hour. I remember seeing that on their site but I didn't see anything about it on their menu... Waitress didn't tell us about it either.
