This has been on my list for awhile but I haven't tried yet and someone suggested this place. Thanks!
When we got there it was packed, we had to wait a bit. We looked at the menu while we waited and they asked us if we are ready to order before giving us the table. It's good, less time wasted by waiting.
The service was good. The seats were a bit funny. I sat on the couch ones and I felt like I was sinking. Someone was sitting on the hard ones so it felt like I had to look up all the time. I see other tables like that too. Very interesting.
Anyways, we got the 2 different cold noodles ($10.99 each). One in a slush soup and the other one was soupless with a spicy sauce.
The waitress asked if we need to cut the noodle because it's a bit sticky so we let her. From previous Korean restaurants, I didn't have to get my noodles cut so I was a bit confused. I understand why she suggested to cut it because it was hard to separate it, it's like stuck together. I asked for bowls but she never got us any. Someone had to ask again.
The slush soup one, I prefer that one better because it wasn't as dry and had flavour. I tried the slush and it had a salty taste to it then tangy and then a water no taste. The soup itself is a bit sourish which was nice for a cold noodle. The noodle was chewy. The radish was sour which I like but I wish the cucumber was sour too. There was half an egg and 2 slices of beef.
The soupless one was super hard to stir and separate. We added the spicy sauce ourselves and part of it didn't have any flavour and part of it was really spicy. To me, it was a bit dry so I added like 3 spoonfuls of the tangy soup to it. It had the same toppings as the other one.
I quite like the side dishes. They had yam and potatoes, not just potatoes, so good. The fish cake was good too, love fish cake. The bean sprouts here tasted better, had more flavour to me. Someone thought the kimchi was too spicy, I thought it was ok.
Overall, it's ok I guess. The size was ok but presentation lacked a bit. Yes, I would come back again because I want to try their hot pot thing, maybe fall or winter. Or I can just try it somewhere else.
