The room we were in was really pretty. The server was really nice and tried to talk to us. We were waiting for my coworkers to come up and we were starving so we asked for bread and I got a Caesar. Yes, I was drinking. Why so shock? I drank last year.
We had a 3 course meal, I got the sweet carrot veoute, crisp buttermilk chicken and chocolate ganache. Friend got the barnston island green, 6oz angus tenrloin and frozen chestnut panna cotta.
The sweet carrot soup was not bad, it had a slight sweetness to it which was good. I like those little pickled like carrots in it. I don't remember what it tasted like but I liked it but I couldn't spoon them up so I left 2 on the bowl.
The buttermilk chicken was really good, a tiny bit salty but I like it. The corn and purple cabbage or something didn't really have any taste to it so I had to eat it with the chicken. There was a sauce on the side, I tried a bit and I didn't like it so I left it. The biscuit was a bit hard to me and I also had to eat it with the chicken for taste. The chicken was the best thing on that plate. Like my coworker said, "I wish there were more chicken". Me, "I wish the whole plate was filled with chicken". LOL!
The chocolate dessert was also really yummy. Can't go wrong with chocolate right? It was very chocolate, very mousse ish or creamy. Like most chocolate desserts, there will be something sour. There were these clear gel like sauce on the plate, I believe it was raspberry sauce but a clear version. The earl grey ice cream was really good but it was melting like crazy. The meringue was ok but stuck on my teeth.
I tried a bit of my friend's panna cotta, I didn't like it too much, it was very creamy. Don't really taste any chestnut. I tried a candied ginger, so good! Most of my coworkers that got his didn't finish it. They didn't like it and the dessert only took up half of the plate.
Overall, I think my choices were good. They aren't that great but I think I would still come again if someone invite me.
Thanks for the treat, not sure the price but dine out was $40 last year.
